Born and raised in Houston, he served in the Texas Legislature from 2003 to 2021.
His is a story of humble beginnings, where faith, persistence, and hard work were the “family values”--values he still cherishes and encourages in students whenever he’s asked to speak.
He and his family reside in the Spring Branch area.
Kay Glenn Clinton
Kay Clinton, has been a hobby-poet with a passion for “things” political since high school. She has worked the last 15 years for elected officials, having recently retired after nearly a decade with Rep. Dwayne Bohac, whom she considers family.
She has stacks of poems and writings, and has even written an entire book which remains unread by anyone but her. Gifting friends and family with poetry is one of her great joys. She has had some of her writings published but primarily writes for her personal enjoyment.
Kay is from Clover, South Carolina, and attended Winthrop University and St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and loves all things Southern. She adopted Texas as her home in 1978 and resides in Houston. Kay has three amazing grandchildren Promise, Caden, and Parrish. She enjoys traveling, decorating and gardening and made her first mission trip to Uganda in 2013. Mentoring teen-agers gives her great satisfaction. Kay fights hard to be unruffled by the hectic pace of society preferring to relax when possible while listening to contemporary Christian music with a glass of sweet tea.
